Joe Johnson served as a Trustee (councilman) in Frederick, Colorado, from 2004 to 2008. Joe’s motto is that the answer is always ‘no’ until you ask. Using this motto throughout his Libertarian career, he has accomplished major feats including highly successful candidate-recruitment campaigns.
Joe has been awarded The Advocates for Self-Government ‘Lights of Liberty Award’ five times.
Joe has served the LP Colorado by overseeing three different campaigns to fill the candidate slate for Colorado House and Senate for years 2000, 2002, and 2012 -- each time with great success. During this time he was elected to the town council in Frederick, Colorado.
Joe’s dedication has won him some of LP Colorado’s most prestigious awards including the Minuteman award recognizing activism, the Libertarian of the Year Award, and Lexington Award recognizing lifetime achievement.
Joe served as the LP Boulder county chair in 2002; as a delegate to the LP national convention in 2004, 2008, 2010, and 2012; and as a speaker at the LP national conventions in 2008 and 2016.
